Meet the AMI team
Diederik Wokke | Country Manager
A passion for skills development and challenges made Diederik decide to move to Rwanda to set up AMI’s office in Kigali. Before this, he worked for five years with a European investment bank; advised SMEs and co-founded several companies. Being able to work with such a talented team and having an impact on Rwandan development are what keeps him motivated.
Junior Kanamugire | Partnership Manager
A civil engineering graduate with over a decade of experience in the construction sector, Junior Kanamugire decided to venture into the entrepreneurship circle. He’s founded a few businesses in the Service and IT sector, the most notable one being PikiWash, a motorcycle service company based in Kigali. Junior currently serves as the Partnerships Manager at the African Management Initiative Kigali office, with his main role being developing the business development pipeline for Rwanda.
Priscilla Ruzibuka | Programme Manager
World traveller and entrepreneur Priscilla thrives when challenging herself in new environments. Studying and living in Malaysia for 4 years has taught Priscilla to never give up, there is always a solution just around the corner. This attitude has been brought forward to her role at AMI. She loves the well organised and easy to navigate aspects of the team at AMI. In her spare time she runs a social enterprise working with woman from disadvantaged areas in Rwanda. Ki-Pepeo Kids has spread from Rwanda all the way across to the UK and the US, hopefully even wider in the near future.
Cecile Umuhoza | Programme Manager
With more than 10 years of experience in the Tourism and Hospitality industry in East Africa, Cecile started as a project coordinator and tour consultant in Rwanda and progressed to the role of operations manager overseeing 4 countries within the first fours years at the beginning of her working life. She is driven by challenges as they represent opportunities for growth. She is curious by nature, ready to learn, unlearn, question, reflect and share as she believes in the impact of each of us on the overall society. Her work and travel experience emphasized how connected the world is becoming, she feels at her place in environments where people are looking for ways to be more competitive and develop more skills which is what brought her to AMI.
Prisca Umurerwa | Business Development Representative
Having a close knit network of team members at AMI helps Prisca to get the best possible outcome in every aspect of her job. Interested in social management, Prisca hopes to continue her studies in Law in the near future. She is inspired by her passion for helping those who may be less fortune than her to reach their own potential. Prisca can be found on the weekend hanging out with her friends or curled up with a good book.
Straton Habumuremyi | Programme Associate
Great teamwork and positive challenges are what drives Straton everyday at AMI. Newly graduated in Management Logistics Starton is passionate about the future growth of AMI in Rwanda and around the world. Coming from humble backgrounds, an anonymous sponsor supported him through school where he achieved top marks and was able to continue onto university. He was never able to thank his sponsor but through his experience he has learnt how to understand and appreciate the impact that education makes on a person for their personal future but also the future of their family and wider community.
